Eliza J Dresses Speak My Love Language!

It’s hard to really complain about winter here in Southern California because most days are beautiful and sunny. When the chilly weather does finally roll around, I get to bundle up in warm sweaters, jeans, and boots. However, I’m going to be honest though…I just pretend that I love dressing for winter! It’s fun to bundle up like that for about 5 whole minutes! As soon as I start to see spring fashions pop up in the months of December and January, I get crazy excited and I think it makes me instantly ready to fast forward to spring already!

This spring I plan on spending a lot of time with Eliza J dresses! Not only with them but wearing them! Have you seen their line of dresses? Just take one look at their Instagram and you’ll be as enamored as I was! I swear Eliza J dresses speak my Love Language!

Eliza J dresses are made with such beautiful prints and fabrics, each developed by talented artists and are feminine and unique. I love all of the different styles of dresses. They have every ingredient for being labeled as “that perfect dress” in your closet! From day to evening, they are the perfect fit for today’s modern form. They’re available in regular, petite & plus-sizes, and each one is designed to make a woman look fabulous and “feel pretty“!

After combing through Pinterest, Instagram, and the Eliza J site, I think I’ve come up with some of my favorite Eliza J dresses for this spring! One of the fun parts about living in sunny SoCal is that I can get away with wearing any one of these dresses in the day or night. It’s so easy to change their look a little by just swapping out accessories and shoes!

I love the combo of black and white with stripes & dots on this dress with the overlay!

I also love the combination of black, floral & dots on this dress! It, too, has that pretty overlay!

How fun are these springy florals? This picture makes me want to dress up with of my girlfriends in Eliza J!

Since I am usually a very “matchy-matchy” person, I LOVE LOVE the stripes with floral on this one!

How adorable is this gown? Guess what? It has pockets, too!

I think you can probably see a recurring theme here with my picks? I’m always a fan of black but am also loving the combination stripes and dots. Of course florals are always traditional for spring, too. I love dresses that fall just above the knee but am also fond of the long gown length. Union Market Mission Viejo at Kaleidoscope Center Announces First Restaurants & Retailers

Union Market Mission Viejo has announced more than a dozen specialty retailers and restaurants who have begun construction at Kaleidoscope Center! It will open a 28,000 square foot space in early summer, featuring 20 independent retailers and chef-driven restaurants. This is such exciting news! Annual Orchid Expo to Take Bloom at Westminster Mall February 13-15!

The Newport Harbor Orchid Society will host its 13th Annual Orchid Expo and Sale, this year themed “Orchids: Jewels of the Jungle,” February 13-15, at Westminster Mall.

The Expo, which is free and open to the public, will showcase thousands of high quality orchids in bloom from all over the world. Orchids are the largest family of flowering plants with over 35,000 known species and hybrids.

Without having to leave Southern California, show goers will be dazzled by the diversity and beauty of the orchids to be displayed by professional growers, area orchid societies, and individual hobbyists.

A large sales area will feature expert commercial growers who will be offering unique species and hybrids for sale. There will also be two potting workshops designed specifically for new growers, which are scheduled for Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15. Registration is limited to the first 20 registrants for each class. To register, e-mail [email protected].

Judging of the plants will be conducted by accredited judges of the American Orchid Society and the Cymbidium Society of America, as well as by local society members. An exhibit of orchid art by members of the Westminster Mall’s Kidgits Club will also be on exhibit during the show.

Friday February 13: 10am – 9pm
Saturday, February 14: 10am – 7pm
Sunday, February 15: 11am – 6pm

J. Jill Now Open at The Shops at Mission Viejo!

Disclosure: I was invited to attend a media preview of the new J. Jill Store in The Shops at Mission Viejo and provided with a new “look” for me. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own. I love when the cooler weather shows up here in Southern California, which doesn’t always happen. I think this year is my year to take full advantage of a real winter though. When I was recently invited to attend a special event for the grand opening of the newest J. Jill store at The Shops at Mission Viejo, I couldn’t resist. I love the soft, fuzzy, comfy collections shown in their catalog and was excited for a chance to peek inside the new store and have some fun trying on some fun pieces in the dressing room!

When you first walk into the store, you won’t know what to touch first. There are so many soft sweaters and scarves, in beautiful colors and patterns. There are even chenille blankets! I couldn’t keep my hands off of them!

What I liked that the store is set up so that it’s easy to put together different looks by just grabbing a few pieces and mixing them up. You can create totally different looks each day with just a few basic pieces that are interchanged.

I loved the simplicity of being able to put on one of their solid tanks underneath any sweater or top I tried on and then pair it with some of their leggings or jeggings.

The Wearever collection are pieces are soft, knit pieces that are easy to care for and are virtually wrinkle-free. It’s especially perfect for women who travel.

I think I fell in love with this red Hailey Peacoat! I think every woman should have one of these in their closet, don’t you?

I had so much fun trying on all of these comfy pieces in the dressing room and snapped a few selfies of some of my favorite sweaters! I especially loved the sparkly necklaces that are paired with the black sweater. That’s actually the look I chose to take home.

Something else I learned about the company when I was at this event was about the J. Jill Compassion Fund. This fund is set up to provide support to community-based organizations that help disadvantaged and homeless women become self-sufficient. J. Jill recently donated $2,000 to their Compassion Fund partner, Laura’s House, which is an organization local to this newest J. Jill store location. The J. Jill Compassion Fund has donated over $6 million to over 60 organizations across the county since 2002. Wow!

J. Jill clothes are fashionable, high quality pieces and are perfect for moms like me who are always on the go. I am so happy there’s a J. Jill store in “my mall” now because I can go back and shop anytime I want to!

Stop by the Think Pink Breast Health Wall of Honor at The Shops at Mission Viejo

Last week, when I was at “My Mall” grabbing a couple of things, I noticed the annual Think Pink Breast Health Wall of Honor was up, near the escalators. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mission Hospital’s Valiant Women support group is hosting the 12th annual Think Pink Breast Health Wall of Honor, presented by Infiniti of Mission Viejo, at The Shops at Mission Viejo.

Now through October 31, the Breast Health Wall of Honor will be displayed in Center Court (lower level) of The Shops at Mission Viejo. Shoppers have the opportunity to donate $25 and place a hand-written card on the wall display in honor of a loved one or in remembrance of someone with breast cancer. Donations can also be made to underwrite the cost of a mammogram or diagnostic procedure ($100) for someone who could not otherwise afford it.

After taking some time to read through some of the literature, that’s free to take, at the tables and admiring all of the names on the Breast Health Wall of Honor, I really enjoyed getting to chat with the two sweet ladies who were volunteering at the table that day. Meeting them and hearing about all that they do to help this wonderful organization raise money, was so inspirational. Volunteers really do make the world go ’round!

One-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit Mission Breast Health Services. That is the part I really like. The money they’re raising is all going towards the cause and helping those in need. Mission Breast Health Services is dedicated to providing women with preventive measures as well as offering a complete breast health program to diagnose and treat breast cancer with expertise, compassion and support. By involving medical professionals, survivors, family and friends, Mission takes a team approach to fighting breast cancer. Due to the generosity of the community, last year the event raised net proceeds of nearly $50,000 and was able to provide over 13,000 screening mammograms to under or uninsured women in our community.

Don Roberto Jewelers Knows How to “Bling It On”!

When I was invited to the grand opening celebration of the Don Roberto Jewelers in Huntington Park, I gladly accepted as it was a chance to meet up with some of my girlfriends for some “Mommy Time” to do some jewelry shopping. There were mariachis, food, balloon animals for the kids, and a raffle for some great prizes!

I loved their beautiful costumes!

I enjoy trying on jewelry and Don Roberto has a gorgeous selection of jewelry and watches in their store. My eyes were immediately drawn to some pieces in the front case of the store. Everything was so sparkly and I spotted the most perfect necklace with a little crown on it. Obviously this necklace would be perfect any princess, both young and old.

Right next to the crown necklace was a lock and key necklace. I loved the way this one too. I wear a lot of white gold and I like the look of pavé. The salesgirl was so helpful and even suggested pairing the 2 necklaces together to create an even prettier look.

As I continued to browse the jewelry case, I also found some gorgeous heart earrings with a matching heart necklace. I could feel my Don Roberto jewelry wish list growing by the minute!

A hot pink pop of color was the first thing that caught my eye from the watch case! They have a huge selection of watches in the store that are very reasonably priced, including Juicy Couture. I had no idea that Juicy Couture watches were made my Movado! That speaks a lot about their quality.

Both of them are beautiful! I love the extreme bling on the left one, but love the simplicity with just some bling on the right!

I also loved some of their other watches, especially the Hello Kitty collection. It seemed like everyone was trying these watches on. You’re never too old to love Hello Kitty!

After trying on a few watches, we decided we needed to stop and take a selfie! It’s just what my friends and I love to do!

Jewelry shopping with @ThatsItMommy and @KindaSillyMommy was so much fun!

When we resumed our shopping, I checked out some of the beautiful earrings. I loved the petite hearts because I usually wear really small earrings, but I also loved the flower earrings. They were very sparkly on my ears.

I also tried on this delicate bracelet that was all hearts linked together. I could wear this for everyday but also for a special occasion where I need to dress up an outfit or formal dress.

The last piece I tried on was a very simple, tri-colored necklace. I like the combination of the metals on this necklace. I also like that it’s different from anything I usually wear.

After spending almost 2 hours in the store, trying on jewelry and socializing, I needed to make a decision about what I was going to get. Sometimes you end up finding way more than you originally intended to shop for. Don Roberto offers an “Easy Pay” option, which is a line of credit that makes buying jewelry WAY easier.

Look at my new Hello Kitty watch!

I finally decided on one of the adorable Hello Kitty watches! Why not? I never buy anything like that for myself and so I decided to do so for once. They packed my new watch it in this beautiful red bag for me to take home.

I had such a fun experience shopping at Don Roberto Jewelers. The staff was so friendly and helpful and really made me feel welcomed. I hope to go back and shop there again soon. They know how to “Bling it on”!

Let’s Go Back-to-School Shopping at The Shops at Mission Viejo!

Summer is coming to an end and if you haven’t already started your back to school shopping, you should probably get to it soon! I know I need to start mine, so I’ll be heading to The Shops at Mission Viejo…again!

I refer to The Shops at Mission Viejo as “my mall”. Not only do we live close by, but I LOVE this mall because it literally has everything we need in one place and it’s family friendly. We always find the latest fashions there! Emi and I spend a lot of time hanging out together there.

Just making the list of things Emi needs counts as starting Back-to-School prep, right?

Every year, Emi and I make Back-to-School shopping an entire “Girls Day Out”. There are so many stores to shop at in The Shops at Mission Viejo and lots of choices for a stop to lunch, when our feet need a rest.
